India... I love thee still....
the Spirit... which is all Love...
I do not care what they say, I love my God , my religion , my country , and above all , myself a poor beggar. I love the poor , the ignorant , the downtrodden , I feel for them – the Lord knows how much. He will show me the way. I do not care a fig for human approbation or criticism . I think most of them as ignorant, noisy children – they have not penetrated into the inner nature of sympathy , into the spirit which is all love.---------------SWAMI VIVEKANANDA [ CHICAGO, 1894]

I wear the yellow turban...
I WEAR THE YELLOW TURBAN
BY DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
Today, I am not my usual self
I saw Paramhans Yoganand
I saw Swami Vivekanand
Come to me
Putting the yellow turban on my head
I am feeling totally unworthy
How I shall fulfill promises of Thee
I have so many faults
I have so many sins
They cried , you , you and only you
Will work for us
You will have to carry our mission
Because you are wearing the yellow turban

village life.. the juggler...
Juggler
BY DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
Blowing of the whistle
Gathering of all children
Games of snakes and monkey
Pindrop silence prevails
Juggler sometimes cries sometimes hails
Different games to show
Amidst the hustle bustle of the village
Full entertainment to throw
Collection of money all around

Holi.. sacred Krishna festival in spring...
Lord Krishna`s Holi with Gopi`s
By DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
Gopi`s vivacities
Krishna` velocity
Fervour of Holi
Display of colours
Stained faces and humours
Mirth and joy all around
Colours all round lying on the ground
Singing of songs , beating of drums
Dancing of Gopi`s with Lord Krishna
Holi, holi everywhere with all kinds of funs
With the colours all are one
Their bodies different but souls are one

My India-- My Village...
Fragrance of the earth
Leading me towards the path
Where only love and love prevails
Everyone buys love and none sells
Participation of each in all the festivals , sorrows or joys
Cows ,bulls and agricultural toys
Sometimes sitting in the circle around the fire
Sometimes hanging on the boughs of the trees
Sometimes collecting the flowers to throw
In everyone`s orchard , only happiness to grow
Sometimes sitting together on Chaupal , to see jugglers show
My village—My India—I miss you
Leading me towards the path
Where only love and love prevails
Everyone buys love and none sells

Ma Ganga...
MA GANGA
BY DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
You come to me like swift moving river,
And touches me like river touches stones,
...Your waves,
Vibrates my mind and soul,
You takes me from this world to other,
You waters plants and trees,
But i remain like unquenched earth,
You are innocent continuous spell,
But i am stagnant object

My Mother.. Ganga Maiyya...
MY MOTHER--GANGA MAIYYA
BY DR. RAM SHARMA
O! thou provider of life
thou epitome of our culture
serene, calm and pure
engulfs every medicinal plant within it
waters our mind and fields
o thou! takes all our sins
thou are not a river
thou are a culture, a mark of respect
oh! what we are doing now
thou are not a thing of pleasure
thou are our treasure
kept from ages
Ganga, thou are our mother

Moonlight.. on the Ganges... 1926 American foxtrot song..
Water... like relations...
WATER LIKE RELATIONS
BY DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
Water like relations,
Delicate and fragile,
We fear, these should not,
Swept away with water,
There should not be any chaos,
Relations should be like waterfall,
These should continously flow,
Relations are not two banks of a river,
not to be met again but
Relations should be transparent
Sacred Water...
SACRED WATER
by Dr. Ram Sharma, India
Ganges is descending from the sky,
The water has been purified by moonlight,
It is coming slowly like a new wed groom,
Fountains mingling with fountains,
Medicinal plants are also mixing with it,
To quench the thirst of earth,
To provide the enlightenment for everyone,
To provide the sacred water to everyone,
Ganges descended on earth,
Save Ganges, save life

Morning...
MORNING
BY DR. RAM SHARMA, MEERUT, INDIA
I imagined,
in the morning,
dewy moonlight,
will descend ,
on green grass,
moonlit night will be descending,
the boughs will be budging,
by the delicate touch of winds,
chirping of birds,
fragrance of flowers,
will be there in the environment,
sunrays will be try to stand,
like a child

Thou art my angel... self-confidence..
the ocean of Vedic wisdom...
This is my firm opinion , even if there be many different sectarian beliefs prevalent in India , if only they all acknowledge the vedas , then all those small rivers will reunite in the ocean of Vedic wisdom , and the unity of dharma [ religion] will come about. From the unity of dharma there will result social and economic reform , arts and crafts and other human endeavours will improve as desired , and man`s life will find fulfillment , because by the power of that dharma all values will become accessible to him , economic as well as psychological ones, and also the supreme value of moksha[ enlightenment].--Swami Dayanand Saraswati
